Tattoo The Devil (Shakespearean Sonnet)

Tattoo The Devil

An interesting conversation,

A tattooed Beauty speaking of a Beast;

Of his attention as an aberration,

away from true love to dissipation.

She is far from being a devil!

Her only sin: She did not want to kiss

someone on whom she could never settle

and giving his flirtations a miss.

Oh not branded by tattooist, no!

In fact, the tattooist felt the Beast unkind

to brand the Beauty as a whore

Because who else might he have maligned?

After all, I left him first in tears and curse

Then exposed his duplicity in this verse.
